PromptCareer was founded to bring empirical software engineering standards to career workflows.

We treat resume parsing, ATS ingestion, and LLM prompt engineering as technical problems with verifiable metrics, not vague marketing buzzwords.

Who We Are

PromptCareer is maintained by an independent editorial team of former corporate technical recruiters, engineering managers, and software practitioners who have spent years working with and configuring enterprise hiring systems (Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby).

Our Strict Testing Rubric

Every software review, benchmark study, and tool recommendation on this site is governed by three non-negotiable principles:

  1. Standardized Benchmarks: We test all resume builders using identical test profiles across 5 distinct experience tiers (Junior Developer, Senior Product Manager, VP of Marketing, Data Engineer, Executive Assistant).
  2. Real ATS Ingestion: We do not rely on simulated browser approximations. We ingest test files into live sandbox instances of enterprise ATS portals to measure coordinate stream merging and OCR parsing fidelity.
  3. Zero Paid Placement Influence: While we receive affiliate commissions on some software products, our ratings, pros/cons, and benchmark scores are never altered by commercial partnerships. Tools that fail parsing receive failing grades.
